Commuters planning to use Berkeley roads from Saturday evening to midday Sunday should be prepared for street closures, detours, parking restrictions and rerouted buses due to the Berkeley Half Marathon.

Among other roads, sections of Telegraph Avenue, University Avenue, Shattuck Avenue and Bancroft Way will experience partial or complete closures, according to a City of Berkeley news article.

I-80 exits for University Ave. will also be closed from 6 a.m. to noon Sunday.

The news article also noted that bus route changes will be available closer to Sunday on the AC Transit website under service notices.

The city news article provides detailed street closure information, including the start and end times of closures, as well as a map of routes and detours.

Closures for Center, Allston, Kittredge and Milvia streets will begin Saturday; all other closures will begin Sunday. The most affected streets will close and open over the course of the marathon, following runner progress, to minimize closure impact.

Residents are urged to remove vehicles from affected streets and plan for alternate routes and parking.
