Current rates of overfishing, deep-sea mining and ocean pollution are already threatening the ability for the next generation to have the incredible experiences I did growing up on the beach.

Vote No on L, a revenue measure for $650 Million dollars, because no student benefits are explicitly slated to be paid for with the $650M.

The city of Berkeley needs to recognize that encampments beside Interstate 80 often occurred as a result of the city’s lack of responsibility for providing housing alternatives, while trying to maintain a “safe” city look by pushing out the unhoused population – leaving them no where else to go.

Rather than closing the site, the university should move toward reducing the hours of operation and maintaining the RSF testing site.

The focus of preservation efforts needs to be expanded beyond simply saving the California Theatre’s building from demolition; this theater needs to be financially supported through some outside mechanism, and I think that advocating for government subsidies or grants would be an excellent way to turn this singular effort into a larger movement.
