People’s Park activist and UC Berkeley alumnus Nick Alexander was arrested Aug. 18 on suspicion of vandalism, assault and battery on a peace officer, but was released one day later from the Santa Rita County Jail, as first reported by Berkeleyside.

UCPD is investigating an alleged anti-transgender hate crime committed at People's Park Sunday morning, according to a UC Berkeley WarnMe notification.

Spokespeople for both UCPD and the Berkeley Police Department attribute financial struggles to the COVID-19 pandemic, claiming that insufficient funding has allowed for an increasing number of vacant positions in the police force. 

Two UC Berkeley students were robbed late Friday night at the former Tolman Hall area near the northwest corner of campus.

Katherine Lee, interim director of the Police Accountability Board, or PAB, retired Friday after 32 years of service to the city of Berkeley.

The Berkeley Police Department and Berkeley Fire Department, or BFD, responded to a report of a boat on fire in the water at the Berkeley Marina on Wednesday, as first reported by Berkeleyside.

Berkeley Police Department arrested a Berkeley High School, or BHS, student June 15 on a charge of sexual assault.

A man charged with raping two women in Berkeley has been ordered by a judge to stand trial Thursday following testimony from the two women, as first reported by Berkeleyside.
