At the UC Board of Regents meeting Wednesday, multiple measures were announced to address safety concerns following the escalation of the Israel-Hamas war.

The UC Board of Regents Academic and Student Affairs Committee met Wednesday to discuss recent transfer student legislation, plans to streamline the transfer process and increase graduate student enrollment.

The UC Board of Regents concluded their meetings Wednesday, discussing the Los Alamos National Lab, or LANL, and funding for various universitywide educational initiatives.

Members of UAW 2865 and UAW 5810 — which respectively represent about 36,000 student workers and about 11,000 researchers across the UC system — will vote to combine their two local unions into one between Oct. 10-20.

Last week, the University of California finalized the Search Advisory Committee, which was created to find campus Chancellor Carol Christ’s replacement after she announced plans to retire in June 2024.

The University of California will partner with the National Education Equity Lab, or NEEL, to provide college classes for low-income high school students.
