While The Daily Californian may not be able to publish our full reviews of these films until their respective release dates, here are sneak previews of two highly anticipated LGBTQ+ films of 2018.

In our 2018 Pride Month impact issue, we hope to shed light on all that is still being done on the front for LGBTQ+ rights.

Sports, especially at the professional level, have always seemed to have a primal relationship to homophobia — there is a culturally sustained oxymoron of LGBTQ+ presence and sports: gay men are perceived as inherently not masculine enough to compete on the same stage (or field or court or rink) as straight men.

It is more imperative now than ever to remain critical of what corporations are doing for LGBTQ+ rights beyond throwing money at June celebrations.

Composed of nearly 300 members, LavenderCal regularly hosts social activities for campus LGBTQ+ and allied staff and faculty.
