Somehow, Cal is in the tournament, and even if it may seem like it’ll need divine intervention or Jaylen Brown in disguise to help win a game, never say never.

Unsurprisingly, the Bears dropped their final two games of the regular season against both the Ducks and the Beavers, losing by 33 and 3 points, respectively.

With just two more games left in this nightmare season, the Bears hope to finish strong, aiming for a 5-26 record on the season.

It feels like just yesterday that UC Davis was in town to open the season in Haas Pavilion, but this past weekend ushered in the final two home games of the season.

Cal will look to end its season at Haas Pavilion strong and give a positive send-off to the seniors this weekend.

The 3-24 Bears couldn’t even take back some pride from their trip to Los Angeles: USC and UCLA took turns giving their Northern neighbors a nightmare in Southern California.

Cal is 3-22 and has lost its last nine games. But the Bears will play it out — starting with two games in the City of Angels. The Bears will face USC on Thursday and then sit in LA traffic to get to Westwood for a faceoff with UCLA on Saturday.

The Bears played with close to their ideal lineup, considering the players available for the rest of the season, and actually put together extended spells of good basketball — two factors that have rarely coincided this season. It just wasn’t enough.

Rock bottom nowhere in sight, where do the Bears go from here? The answer is simple: down.
