The Bears return to the Bay from New York after an undefeated performance at the Army Invitational — adding three wins to their now perfect record.

Cal volleyball started its season on a high note last Saturday in Haas Pavilion, defeating the USF Dons in all three sets in a preseason exhibition matchup. The game was a neck and neck battle of shifting momentum, but the Bears persevered with help from some of Cal’s newest and oldest players alike.

The Cal volleyball season is set to begin with plenty of fresh new faces and lots of veteran hunger.

Crosson had been with the Bears since 2019, and has since taken the Bears to a 35-78 overall record. Crosson had previously been an assistant coach with the program for two years in 2010 and 2011.

The Cal volleyball season has finally come to a conclusion— a rather sour one actually. Not being able to post a single Pac-12 conference win this season, the Bears end the season with a 7-22 overall record and a 0-19 conference record.

Having faced Arizona and Arizona State this weekend only to be handed two more losses, a pattern became apparent.

From sprinkler splashes to fireplace ashes, Cal volleyball seems to be giving its all the past few matches, edging closer and closer to a Pac-12 win. Up next, the blue and gold prepare to host Arizona and Arizona State in Haas Pavilion.

Hoping to rebound from recent losses, the Bears had high hopes for their games against UCLA and USC. After two more losses, however, Cal now sits at a league-worst 16-loss streak.

The last time fans saw this matchup Oct. 21, Cal delivered a surprisingly aggressive and sturdy fight, forcing the Trojans to fight on and fight hard for every point.

The tandem adds to the youth movement in the East Bay, where Cal (7-17) sports only one senior – opposite Sydney Lilomaiava.
