I went back to that same hair salon for the final time and walked out with black hair. More importantly, I walked out as the real Audrey Zhu. 

Credit can seem daunting if you don’t understand it, but starting small with an easy-to-navigate starter card can go a long way and set you up well for the future.

The weekend comes around, and suddenly, I don’t have so much time. It isn’t that I, or anyone else, intentionally let job postings expire without ever submitting a resume. I think the bottom line is the misperception of permanence — that things will always be there.

Once I started realizing these foundational cracks, I began wondering what my life would be like without him. In fact, I fantasized about it.

Setting aside my childish grudge against all medical professionals, I took a small step toward becoming a self-sufficient adult. It wasn’t much, but we all start somewhere.

It’s crazy how one person can have such a big impact on someone, completely changing their life, and then suddenly become a stranger.

A lot of students can gain from some dullness and suffering, some education in life and a little misdirection about their own trajectory.

While these relationships are fulfilling in the short term, they succumb to challenges regarding power dynamics and personal growth. 

Home decor is my last defense against the real world and whatever a 401K is, so I will spend as long as I can collecting my bric-a-brac that sparks a very specific kind of joy.
